Q. What is being recalled?

A. Approximately 7500 units of four of our Capri Blue Pet Care products may be contaminated and are being recalled. 

  • Capri Blue Deodorizing Pet Bedding Spray
  • Capri Blue Pet Waterless Foaming Shampoo
  • Capri Blue Pet Deodorizing Fragrance Spritz
  • Capri Blue Pet Detangling and Conditioning Spray

 

Q. Why are the products being recalled?

A. We are recalling these four products due to the discovery of an elevated presence of Pseudomonas aeruginosa bacteria, which can be harmful to pets and humans.

 

Q. How can I tell which products are affected by this recall?

A. Only 4 of our Capri Blue Pet Care products may be contaminated. These products are:

  • Capri Blue Deodorizing Pet Bedding Spray
  • Capri Blue Pet Waterless Foaming Shampoo
  • Capri Blue Pet Deodorizing Fragrance Spritz
  • Capri Blue Pet Detangling and Conditioning Spray

 

Q. What is the problem with my product?

A. The recalled products can contain bacteria, including Pseudomonas aeruginosa, an environmental organism found widely in soil and water. People with weakened immune systems, external medical devices, and underlying lung conditions who are exposed to Pseudomonas aeruginosa face a risk of serious infection that may require medical treatment. The bacteria can enter the body if inhaled, through the eyes, or through a break in the skin. People and pets with healthy immune systems are usually not affected by the bacteria.

 

Q. What symptoms should I be looking for in my pet?

A. Some adverse symptoms to look for in your pets, yourself and family members include respiratory congestion or distress, skin rashes, and infections of wounds, ears, or urinary tract. For specific medical advice you should consult a veterinarian or physician.

 

Q. How did this happen?

A. We have learned that the contamination was caused by a third-party manufacturer’s faulty cleaning of its production equipment.

 

Q. How do I dispose of the product?

A. Please dispose of the recalled products in its container with household trash. Do not empty the product prior to disposal.

 

Q. How do I obtain a refund?

A. You should take a picture of the product with your initials and the date written in marker and email it to CBPetCareRecall@curiobrands.com.

 

Q. How long will it take for me to receive my refund?

A. Please allow 8-10 weeks for processing.

 

Q. I no longer have the receipt for the product. Can I still get a refund?

A. Yes. You can still get a refund for the product without a receipt. You should take a picture of the product with your initials and todays date written in marker and email it to CBPetCareRecall@curiobrands.com.
